Do you find it difficult to manage the voracious amount of information bombarding you during trading? Would it be easier if you could filter the information down to that which is critical to your decision making?
The Alerts Manager in X_TRADER is a great tool to help organize the information in your trading process. It is a flexible tool that allows you to configure alerts to be triggered when conditional variables you specify are met. You can configure six types of variables: Prices, Fills, Trading, Orders, Events, and Time. When a condition is met, an alert such as a sound, pop-up message or email will be sent.
Example: The Alerts Manager Window shown below illustrates three common alert conditions. In each of these examples, the alert notification will repeat every five minutes once the alert is triggered.
The first alert is set to trigger when a trader's P/L is less than -$1,000. The second alert is set to trigger when a trader's Net Position Absolute is greater than 100. And, the third alert is set to trigger when the CME ES June2012 contract reaches a new high, (e.g., the value of the current high changes).
Configuring such alerts works to notify you on information that is critical to your trading. The software is tuning in to the market and helping you to filter the information. This frees your mind from data clutter and overload, allowing you to focus on what is essential.
You can learn more about using the Alerts Manager via this link to our TT Help Library. It is divided into sections which in all provide a detailed guide on getting the most out of this feature.
